Sopore, 12 May 2024:
In continuation of its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Sopore Police has arrested one drug peddler and recovered Contraband substances from his possession.
A police party of Police Station Panzla headed by SHO PS Panzla Insp. Tariq Ahmad under the supervision of SDPO Rafiabad Shri. Dr. Hilal Ahmad Hilal-JKPS, at a checkpoint at Rohama, apprehended one suspected person.
During his search, Police party was able to recover 50 grams of contraband charas like substance from his possession.
On preliminary verification he disclosed his identity as Ghulam Nabi Malla S/O Ghulam Ahmad Malla R/O Rohama.
In this regard, case FIR No. 17/2024 under relevant sections of NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Panzla & investigation has been initiated.
Sopore police urges the common masses to give information regarding narcotics or any other crimes to the nearest police establishment or dial 112.
General Public is requested to cooperate with police in curbing the menace of drugs from the society. We reassure the community members that police will act tough against the criminals as per the law.
