Anantnag: The annual Zool festival was celebrated with religious fervor and enthusiasm at the holy shrine of Hazrat Baba Sakhi Zain-ud-din Wali (R.A) in Aishmuqam, area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Monday.
The festival coincides with the Urs of the revered Sufi saint and marks the beginning of agricultural activity in the region after the long winter months.
During the festival, devotees carry flaming torches and oil lamps, illuminating the shrine and its surroundings.
This tradition, known as Zool, is believed to symbolize the victory of good over evil.
People from all walks of life and religious backgrounds participate in the festival, reflecting the spirit of communal harmony.
